Topic 1: SQL Server - Extended Events – Part2
Synopsis: Extended events aids in performance tuning and in day to day administration especially when you don't have any benchmarking data for troubleshooting issues. In this session, we will see extended event architecture, an event life cycle, how we can use default extended events session to analyze the health of SQL Server on periodically. Besides these, the presentation would also cover advance level troubleshooting like query compilation, Tempdb contention issue are many more…

Topic 2:  Cardinality Estimator - Before 2014 and After
Synopsis: Cardinality estimator providing row estimates, plays a pivotal role in obtaining efficient query plans. Cardinality Estimator algorithm which remained unchanged since SQL 7.0, was revamped in SQL Server 2014. The presentation will take a ride through the new cardinality estimator, showcase the need for the significant redesign and demonstrate the new cardinality estimator's efficiency at different scenarios. Presentation will also cover how one can perform regressive testing, checking for any performance degradation on new cardinality estimator and how they can be handled gracefully.

Topic 1: SQL Server - Extended Events – Part1
Synopsis: Extended Event is a new method of collecting diagnostic data from SQL Server in a way that you could never get detailed information before using the previous features available. The presentation will talk about; how easily you can replace your existing SQL Trace file with extended events, why SQL Trace need be replaced. It will include in-depth two detailed demos

Topic 2:  Integrating SQL data into web platform such as SharePoint.
Synopsis: The topic will discuss on what are the possibilities of making your data available to users via a platform such as SharePoint (both SharePoint Online and on-premises). The idea behind this is to be able to take data out, run thru a business process system and integrate with other data.
It is useful for a SQL DBA to understand how his/her data will be used. This is just one of the methods of this data is used.
Speaker Profile: Sarbjit Singh Gill
I bring 24 years of IT experience spanning consulting, architecture and training for Microsoft technologies such as Lync, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, Windows Server, Active Directory, System Center range of products. I am also experienced in carrying out a Microsoft IO (Infrastructure Optimization) and Implementation of the MS MOF (Microsoft Operations Framework).
Since 2005, I have been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) with Technical Expertise in Lync, SCOM and SharePoint.
I have participated as a speaker and proctor in numerous conference and forums and co-authored a book on MS Exchange monitoring using SCOM. As a MVP, I am founder of Singapore Lync User Group and an active member of other MS Technologies User Group communities. 
I hold a FIA International "C" racing license and I race actively in Japan and Malaysia in touring cars endurance and club races.
I am an active Scuba Diver with interest in underwater videography.

I’ll discuss the various data storage options and data access APIs available for building Universal apps, as well as data management strategies for both content and configuration.

Topic 2:  SQL Server 2016 - Real Time Operational Analytics - "Real" Game changer
Synopsis: Performing analytics on operational data has all along being a huge challenge for applications, due to its impact on regular operations and day to day transactions. SQL Server 2016 has extended its analytic capabilities by its enhancements on "In memory tables" and Columnstore indexes.SQL Server 2016 columnstore index enhancements is a boon for performing analytics on operational data with no impact to regular workload, with no delayed data, no complex ETL tasks and without a need to maintain separate data warehouse.
The presentation would cover how "In Memory" Columnstore indexes help to perform real time operational analytics and would involve interesting demos show casing the gains using SQL Server 2016 "In Memory" and Disk Column Store Index enhancements.
